About
I'm Michelle, a 20-something who have been blogging ever since 2005, but it wasn't until 2008 that I started blogging seriously - mostly about art, fashion and what inspires me. From 2011 onwards, more topics revolving food, beauty, health and fitness were added. In between all these you will find snippets from my life - parties, events and basically some of my thoughts & opinions (and my cat).
There's no particular genre for my blog. I cover a wide spectrum, so anything goes.
I'm one of those artsy-fartsy individuals who loves to write, and I'm glad that I have a platform here to just write whatever I want without anyone controlling what I do. I basically cover topics that would be pretty useful for you (I hope) such as travel tips, reviews of things I like, plus some hand-picked events that are pretty to photograph and fun-filled.
I'm also a self-taught home chef, and I dabble in kitchen experiments every once in a while to achieve some pretty good, explode-on-your-tastebuds, yummy-tasting food. You may look for some potentially good stuff to make here and be the judge of it.
On a more serious note, you can also just get to know me and how I fell in love with myself (in a totally non-vain way) or read about my struggles with weight loss and how I shed them pounds off, or perhaps you want to check out my ink or make my super delicious thai tom yum soup. Whatever it is, you know you want to check it out.
So, why coquettishmish?
I have been asked that question many, many times in my life. To simply put it, when I migrated from my Xanga blog, I was struggling with a username that is available on both Blogger & Gmail. I needed a user name that would be unique enough to be available on all platforms. Usernames like Michelle or MichelleLim are usually already snatched up (usually by deadpan bloggers OR kids under twelve) and Gmail alternatives like Michelle123 etc are just too boring to be used. So by a stroke of mere coincidence, I was browsing through my dictionary when I chanced upon the word 'coquettish' which also happens to mean flirtatious - even though my flirting skills are as floppy as a newborn baby penguin's. Also because it rhymes with my nickname, mish. So came the birth of coquettishmish, it made signing up almost everywhere on the net, a breeze.
So, that's all I can think of to fill up this space here so far. Any further questions can be redirected to my 'FAQ' tab. ;)
