"liquid gold for hair"

I know I might be a little late to jump onto the whole argan oil bandwagon, but boy, is that stuff amazing.

First of all, my hairstylist recommended it to me. I was a little skeptical because I never really cared much for overpriced hair products and I spend less than 50 bucks on my usual serums/leave-in conditioners. Plus I also had a thing for DIY at home hair masks; like my avocado hair mask and that theory I had about body lotion as leave-in conditioner. Remember how I was raving about this leave-in night conditioner? Well, this product is waaaay better.

Anyways, so my hair stylist recommended this unheard of product, Orofluido. I don't know many salons in Malaysia that carries this product, and this is my first encounter with it. My usual hair salons mostly use L'Oreal, Kerastase or TiGi products - the common ones. I asked for more information about Orofluido and after a 3-minute explanation (only 3 minutes! Most saloonists can go on for hours, trying to sell you their products) and a quick demo (like 1 minute quick), I am SOLD. I love this product.

Why? Okay, here's why.

ARGAN OIL + LINSEED OIL + CYPERUS OIL COMBO
I'll admit, I only know what argan oil is. I have no idea what the other two are but from a little research, these are apparently oils that have been used by Middle Eastern ladies for centuries. One article even suggested that Cleopatra herself used argan oil to keep her hair smooth & shiny. Whatever it is, the combination of these three natural oils (and a bit of silicone) beats my existing hair serum which was purely just silicones. Silicones are not great for your hair so this was a great plus.

SMELLS OF AMBER & VANILLA
I love vanilla, and the amber (which I'm suspecting has a bit of patchouli in the mix) fragrance was the first reason why I love it so much. It smells amazing! Very Moroccan with smooth vanilla. It reminded me of Sex in the City 2 in Dubai. :)

THICK AS HONEY
It has the color of honey, and is just as thick. My common serum is usually watery & very oily but this... This flows like honey, slow and rich. The best thing is, it doesn't leave your hair and hands oily like the regular serum does. It absorbs quickly into my hair and as for my hands, it leaves behind that yummy fragrance and my hair stylist told me I could use it as hand oil as well. Because it's so thick, you only need a little bit and this could go a long way. My hair stylist told me my 100ml bottle would last me 6 months. Now that's value for money.

CUTS DOWN BLOW-DRYING TIME
I didn't believe my hair stylist at first but it's true. Because water & oil don't mix, applying this serum into your hair coats your cuticle with oil and the remaining water is sort of repelled from your hair. The 30 minutes I usually spend on blow-drying has now gone down to only 20 minutes or less. The BIG difference when using natural oils instead of silicones to coat your hair.

SHINE & SOFTNESS
I'm not gonna lie, there really is shine and my coarse hair is much much softer now. Especially noticeable after a week of use, or three uses; because I don't wash my hair every day. The amount of flyways, zilch. My ends still feel a little dry but that's another story altogether. I'm betting on healthier hair after my next trim and continued use of this liquid gold.

More info can be found at orofluido.com

Fun fact: I refer to this serum as liquid gold because Orofluido translates from Spanish directly as gold (oro) liquid (fluido). This is an absolute must try especially for those of you who are suffering from coarse, dry and damaged hair like mine. It does not heal your hair completely, but it improves the condition of your hair. With proper care, your hair woes would totally be gone. :)
