I am so excited to bring you news of the most amazing range from Bobbi Brown, from their latest #LONGWEARLIFEPROOF campaign.

Think beach, water, fun – but your makeup starts running the moment you hit the water. Beach selfies? Forget it. You can now have fun with ease, because with the new Long-Wear range, you can rest assured that your makeup worries is taken care of, and you can enjoy your sea and sunshine with no worries. But of course, this is not limited to just beach vacays, it can last you in extreme conditions too like snow, or rainstorms (dancing in the rain perhaps?)

The #LONGWEARLIFEPROOF campaign is in partnership with four of the world’s greatest female extreme athletes:  American World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic Gold Medalist Julia Mancuso; three-time Olympian and seven-time X Games Medalist, snowboarder Hannah Teter; World Surf League Longboard Champion and professional surfer Kelia Moniz; and world record BASE jumper and shark diver Roberta Mancino.

Outfitted with a GoPro camera, each athlete captured raw footage of herself in her sport wearing Bobbi Brown Long-Wear eye makeup and foundation, showcasing how they live life to the extreme and how—throughout it all—their Long-Wear makeup remains water-proof, smudge-proof, sweat-proof, and above all, life-proof.

This woman is out in the snow all day, and the harsh, cold weather cannot be good for the skin. Her footage of her downward slope descent is crazy though, check out her video here.



HANNAH TETER, Olympic and X Games Medalist, Professional Snowboarder
This girl's got attitude! She snowboards the way I always wished I could, but end up flopping face-down into the snow. Her snow bank spins are just awesome, see her in action here.


KELIA MONIZ, World Surf League Longboard Champion, Professional Surfer
Mahalo! I love this girl, mainly because I have heard of her before back when I was watching a few surfing competitions on the tele with my cousins. Surfing is also something I want to learn next time, so her video really appeals to me. :)


ROBERTA MANCINO, World Record BASE Jumper, Shark Diver
Extreme sports is her forte it seems, because I could never dive off a plane with such ease like her. I like her suit though, looks like a flying squirrel, doesn't it? And you have got to see the footage of her petting those sharks underwater, so cool!


One of the products I am most excited about in this range is their first-ever long-wearing brow pencil, Perfectly Defined Long-Wear Brow Pencil, that has a 16-hour staying power, and a convenient dual-ended design. It’s the perfect tool for Bobbi’s low-maintenance, natural take on this season’s coveted, well-defined brow look. I'm all for brows and so far, have not found a reliable product for them.

The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear collection will be launching in May 2015.

It seems that Mr Becks has been going around quite a lot lately. Having just met him last year at the launch of Haig Club whiskey, it seems that he has jumped onto the fashion bandwagon as well – by renewing and expanding his relationship with H&M. He is quite the style icon after all.

The boys would be very pleased to hear that for Spring 2015, he will be choosing his favourite menswear pieces from the Modern Essentials collection at H&M, to create Modern Essentials selected by David Beckham. The collection will include fresh colors and fabrics where key pieces would include a linen bomber jacket, a white chalk-washed denim jacket, a car coat, a sharp linen blazer, a city-slick polo shirt and the perfect poplin white shirt. In short – everything a style icon would essentially wear, and we know how well-priced H&M's apparels are.

He will also be expanding his Bodywear collection (of which my boyfriend already owns quite a few pieces off – stating how comfy they are) that would have a bigger range to it. Colors for Spring in this collection would centre around navy blue, grey melange and broken white, with accents of orange red. Stripes appear as either trims or across whole garments to add a new classic twist.

It's no secret that David Beckham was recently in town. Amidst all adoring fans of his, I was one of the first 40 people to have an audience with him. ;)

His being here is no coincidence – he's here to launch Haig Club, a single grain Scotch whisky under the Diageo company umbrella. Together with Datuk Jimmy Choo, Beckham will be launching the new whisky bottle here in Malaysia, which will be available exclusively at Troika Sky Dining.






We gathered within the cosy confines of The Smokehouse at The Majestic Hotel KL, awaitng Beckham's arrival after his 3pm appearance was delayed to 6pm due to a delay in flight. Patiently, we waited, while sipping on a cocktail made with Haig Club whisky, complemented with ginger bitters.

I was admiring the contemporary design of the Haig Club whisky bottle. The appearance and unique blue color of the glass bottle is no coincidence – it was inspired by the tradition of blenders using blue tasting glasses so the spirit can be reviewed on aroma and taste alone, without any biasness caused by color or appearance.



As for the drink, it is butterscotch-smooth with a slight hint of tropical fruit and an unexpected, spicy backing to it. Paired with the ginger bitters though, it is surprisingly sweet, smooth and very delightful. I am not a whisky person, so this is saying a lot coming from me.

At the final hour of waiting, we were then ushered into the Orchid Room to take a seat and await Beckham's arrival. We were entertained by a promotional video (featuring Beckham, of course) and a few speeches from Datuk Jimmy Choo and a few representatives from Diageo. Until at last, Beckham arrives into the room – I was amazed by how good he looked in person. No Photoshop here people, he is the real deal.









We launched into a Q&A session with him where most questions revolved around Haig Club whisky and Beckham's role in designing the bottle. He even mentioned that he usually likes his whisky on the rocks and that his favorite cocktail is The Haig Clubmen. After that, Beckham and Datuk Jimmy Choo opened the crate of freshly bottle Haig Club whisky from their time in Scotland – a short photo op ensued before he had to dash off.

This is the recipe for Beckham's favorite drink, The Haig Clubmen:

• Hand-cracked ice
• One long slice of root ginger (ideally cut with a mandolin)
• 50ml Haig Club
• 35ml sparkling apple soda
• 6 dashes of ginger bitters

Serve in a highball or tumbler


All of us were then whisked off to The Smokehouse again, for a short whiskey tasting session with Ewan Gunn, the Global Whisky Master of Haig Club. Here he educated us about the making of Haig Club whisky and the reason why it has such a unique flavor. He then walked us through a tasting of the whisky, without any mixers or ice to affect the flavor. I got the lovely hint of vanilla and butterscotch, much stronger this time – and also a slight hint of pineapple. The whisky was smooth but without any mixers, the burn was quite strong at the back of the throat, but there wasn't any lingering taste. That's how smooth single grain Scotch whisky tastes like.









It was a terrific experience, and one that I'm hardly ever to forget! ;)

It was just earlier this year that Salvatore Ferragamo celebrated the 35th Anniversary of the iconic Vara shoe in Seoul. Earlier this month, they launched the much anticipated Vara and Varina made to order program – where you can customize your shoes to your specific preferences.

The cocktail event was held at the Salvatore Ferragamo store in Suria KLCC, welcoming over 200 esteemed KL-ites that consists of tastemakers, members of the media and fashionable personalities. I for one, was still in Osaka at the time and couldn't attend. :(

The guests who were there though, were the first to view the dedicated site, customize.ferragamo.com, and order their very own customized Vara or Varina, proposed in a wide array of colors ranging from Optic White, Oxford Blue, Ruby Red, and Black, to the brand new Pastel Pink, Pastel Violet and Blue and White striped fabric. I personally love the White striped fabric, I think I'm having a sort of nautical fever seeing how I just bought some nautical-inclined, striped socks for my Japan trip.

Oh and on a side note, if you didn't know already, Angeline Jolie was recently presented with the Insignia of Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George (Phew! That was long) by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, London. She wore a lovely pair of grey Salvatore Ferragamo peep-toe shoes to match her lovely outfit. Well-deserved, indeed. :)

The eponymous Bernard Chandran has been making wave after wave in the fashion scene, not just locally in Malaysia, but in the international fashion scene as well. His new collection – Venus In The Daytime – is based on the concept of Urban Goddesses (which I would assume, the high society Malaysian women in KL) and the style is inspired highly by Madame Grès (1903-1993), a remarkable couturier of the 20th-century. She is known for using delicate pleats to turn ordinary fabrics into Greek sculpture.

Bernard's inspiration for this line, blossomed after working with Madame Pico, who is Madame Grès' last living assistant. Thus, his S/S15 line revolves around the use of flat pleats and delicate draping of pleats to create a sculpted look. He uses Madame Grès' traditional silk jersey, and plays it up with a mixture of leather, lace, cotton silk and cork – to play up a modern twist to a classical design.

Check out his designs below and notice the feminity and flowy look of his pieces that features pleats in the most modern way possible. I have taken the liberty to go through all the runway shots, and selected some of my favorite looks off it.

I have to say, I love the combination of fabrics and texture in the pieces above. They look so.. wearable. As we know, couture these days are pretty much unwearable off the runway, but Bernard has found a way to make it work on and off the runway. Much, much love for his work of art!

As you may or may not know, Kate Upton (my new favorite girl) is the new face for Bobbi Brown. She's sexy, she's bodacious, perfect girl-next-door looks and she's beautiful! She is also listed as Forbes' 100 Most Powerful Celebrities, at the number #94 spot currently. I don't know what, but something just draws me (and a million-bazillion others) to this girl.

She was recently interviewed on Vogue.com, to talk about her being the face of Bobbi Brown. Here's an excerpt of some of my favorite questions.

Kate, have you ever worn Bobbi Brown makeup before? 
Yes! My mom used it and my two older sisters used it; it’s been a part of my life ever since I was growing up. My mom always says she knows when she’s found a good product, because all three of her daughters take it! I started out with the concealer and mascara. When you first learn how to do your makeup, it’s very basic, but even now I love wearing the mascara and just a little blush. Bobbi’s makeup is so light, and I’m such a Florida girl, that it just goes along with my lifestyle.

You’re associated with a certain kind of bygone supermodel sexiness. What role does makeup play for you as a model—and now also an actress—who is constantly in the spotlight?
Makeup is very important in making me feel either confident or sexy, but it doesn’t define how I feel. I love my body and I love my job, so it’s fun to play around with different looks; makeup helps you do that. But I always find it to be more of a compliment when people call me happy rather than sexy. I am a happy person, and I hope that comes across.

Kate, what are your go-to products? 
I love the Smokey Eye Mascara! I’m a little bit more of a smoky-eye girl than a lip girl. It doesn’t clump, and it gives you just enough of that sexy appeal. And also, like I said, I love their bronzer. Being from Florida, that helps me feel a little healthier!

How do you both feel about this campaign? 
Kate: You know, what’s cool about Bobbi is that a lot of campaigns make you feel like makeup is everything, but she really emphasizes that it’s about you and your personal beauty, so it feels like a good fit.

Bobbi: Kate came to the shoot without a stitch of makeup; she is the girl next door, really fresh and the epitome of all-American. She not only represents beauty—although I think all women are beautiful—but she has incredibly good energy. She is happy, she is strong, she is smart, she is open, and she is really versatile. She’s starting to act, she’s a model; she speaks eloquently about confidence and self-esteem, which is really important to me. I think she’ll be a great [role model] for young girls to look up to.

The new Limited-Edition Surf & Sand Collection by Bobbi Brown is all about creating an effortlessly chic beach look – inspired by Bobbi Brown's vacations – that features shades of sandy neutrals to surfy blues and sunset pinks.




You have to love the shimmery quality that this collection brings, and those lovely pastel colors. I also love the lipsticks that is a sheer hue of Sunlit Pinks to Summer Nudes.

The Sand Eye Palette, at the very top is my favorite as it has all the lovely browns and metallic bronzes to sparkling golds which I love so much. I am a big fan of neutral colors and anything with brown hues, so that makes it the perfect palette for me.

For those who are more into experimenting with pastel colors, you can go for the Surf Eye Palette, that ranges form soft blues and aqua to a soft pink. I think this palette captures the image of a perfectly blue sky and a cloudy sun, at the beach in a most enticing way. Makes me want to sink my toes into some sand and just soak up the sun!
