Ever since the launch of Scandinavian brand, Monki in Malaysia earlier this year – the brand has been ever so popular. In fact, its popularity spurred the launch of their second store in IOI City Mall in Putrajaya last month, and less than a month later, Monki's opening its doors once again, in One Utama. I attended the pre-opening party, and this is what's in-store.

Upon walking in, be ready to get entranced into a parallel universe created by Monki, Everything is shiny and glittery – from the mirrored ceilings to the vast amount of gold and silver streamers. Specially for the party, a fun Glitter Tattoo booth has been set up for us guests! I immediately had to go with the Fat Bat tattoo. There was also a bracelet booth where you can thread your initials into one.











Taking to the über cool Scandinavian street style, this season's collections include a lot – and I mean A LOT – of animal prints! From their new 'mascot', the fat bat (which is even sold as a plush toy) to crazy socks with moustached cats and gym bunnies, even cat printed tops – you will be spoilt for choice. Not a fan of the animal-themed trend? No worries – there are loads of funky bright & bold prints in an assortment of colors to choose from, as well as glittery and textured variants of clothing of all colors as well.




















Nothing's sweeter than a little sweet treat provided for us. Colorful choices of marshmallows, donuts, candies and biscuits lay in wait for hungry shoppers to devour, complemented by lychee and orange cocktails served by waiters in glass bottles. Electro trance ambient music was also provided by DJ Nadia & Arabyrd.








At another section of the store, attendees of the night can have their photos printed out on-the-spot by uploading a photo of themselves on Instagram with the hashtag #monkistyle and #monkimalaysia. The photos are cute and instant, exclusively by Wowbooth.





Got the lemon wedge clutch cause it's too damn cute! And the sweet people at Monki gave us all flower headbands and that angry bat face wallet. :)
