Picks: First Of Many To Come

Thursday, August 21, 2014

I love Etsy. It is one of the best places to source for unique and beautiful items, mostly handmade. Some are made so beautifully, you'll never look at commercialized items the same way ever again. I was thinking, since I surf on Etsy so much, it's only fair that I share my findings with all of you (like so many other bloggers have, especially those DIY ones). I will feature a few favorite picks each week, or fortnightly (depending on how many interesting items I find to my fancy) – under a new 'picks' category. I find that by doing this, not only do I give you guys something new to add to your life, but I'm also indirectly helping out these talented people on Etsy. :)

I may even post some other findings from other sites, so this is not just limited to Etsy alone. Last week I posted a few selections of beautiful jars & canisters to keep our beauty station clean and organized. So you can be sure to see more of things like that.

Handmade Egg Rugg (RM195.50)
I absolutely love this! I find it really cute to have a HUGE sunny side up sitting on the floor (kitchen floor maybe?) and it is a nice addition to brighten up any living space. Who doesn't love eggs right? Purchase this here.

Toast & Egg Coaster Set (RM58.65)
From the same shop that makes that adorable egg rugg, you can get these coasters to match. It's a lovely addition to a kitchen, and I like how these crocheted items are made from up-cycled material. Purchase these here.

Sterling Silver Spike Amethyst Ring (RM179.21)
I have always loved any sort of jewelry with quartz crystals and the many color variations they come in. Spike crystals are beautiful, in their natural cut and irregularities. They are so unique that no two pieces are alike, and I think that's what makes it special. Like this ring, it's so beautiful, and so simple. Check out the shop for more variations. Purchase this here.

Burgundy Arrowhead Clutch (RM195.50)
Isn't this pretty? I like the fact that this is totally hand-painted and there is a pretty color mix. As explained by the talented creator: "The brush stroke pattern is our abstract take on a classic, each stroke first painted by hand onto paper and full of texture. Then it's screen printed on cotton canvas with water based inks in our hand mixed color. Waxed canvas bottom in grey." Many other color options available, as well as bags too. Purchase this here.

Spring Leaves iPhone 4/4s and 5/5s case (RM61.91)
Wood casings are the prettiest things ever! However, this is a wood-print on plastic, which means it is very lightweight. The wood grain goes especially well with the blue and green painted leaf motifs. Purchase this here.

Sunkissed Face & Eye Makeup Palette iPhone 4/4s and 5/5s case (RM61.91)
One of my favorite cases, also from the same seller as the spring leaves case. This is perfect for every girl out there, I just love the color combination, so so so pretty! You can bet I'm ordering this now, as we speak. Purchase this here.

That's about it for this time round. Keep watch for more to come in the following weeks!
